JENNA

MASTER STYLIST & OWNER

Jenna was basically raised in a salon. As a third generation stylist, she has either a scissor or a comb in hand since she was 5. Spending every day in the salon run by her mother and grandmother, no one could expect to keep her from the trade for long. Her grandfather, in his 80s, is a barber and brought with him a different vantage point from which Jenna could learn the skill. “I’ve learned from some of the best from multiple generations of stylists and barbers. How many people can say that? The education I’ve received is priceless.” Graduating from beauty school was, in her opinion, a formality and for the next 16 years Jenna has worked to stay at the forefront of the industry. 

Jenna insists that the most important part of the job is being able to clearly communicate with clients in order to provide the highest level of service and to ensure their new look is in line with their lifestyle. She’s able to assist clients in navigating which service is going to provide them with the result they most desire. Jenna has mastered services ranging from keratin smoothing treatments and extensions, to classic bobs and long hairstyles. She’s able to achieve color results that are in highest demand. Her barbering roots are frequently on display as she has instilled the techniques she’s learned in all the stylists at The Hair Tailor.

CARLEE

MASTER STYLIST

Carlee successfully completed her studies at Aveda Institute in 2008. Throughout the following 16 years, she has diligently honed her skills, creating an impressive arsenal of talents. 

Carlee possesses extensive expertise in color theory and is our resident expert when it comes to all things red. She adores working with vibrant colors and is always eager to tackle a trendy, unconventional haircut without hesitation. 

Her artistic talents are remarkable, matched only by her exceptional technical prowess in executing flawless men’s faded haircuts. Carlee’s versatility knows no bounds, as she effortlessly excels in all aspects of hair styling. 

When she’s not showcasing her skills in the salon you can often find Carlee enjoying quality time with her three boys, preferably our on the lake with fishing rods in hand, And on those rare occasions when she manages to steal some alone time, you might spot her creating a beautiful art piece with her paintbrush.

ASHLEE

INDEPENDENT STYLIST

Ashlee is The Hair Tailor’s only Independent Stylist; with 18 years in the beauty industry.  

After graduating from Regency Beauty School - Minnetonka in 2006, Ashlee pursued further educational and professional opportunities allowing her to claim the role: Regional Brand Manager and Color Educator for Affinage, the professional color line. Ashlee loves styling clients for both everyday wear and special occasion up-do’s while also specializing in hair extensions. 

Her positive energy is infectious and she has a way of making everyone around her feel uplifted. She is a source of happiness for all who know her. She has two young daughters and an adoring husband at home with whom she enjoys spending her time, albeit running from place to place for dance performances on the weekends.

Jess comes to us from The Aveda Institute, graduating in 2020.

She is a charming personality within the salon. Her quick wit and sharp mind draws us all in. Her skills have shined brightly since the very beginning. Her haircutting skills are phenomenal on both men and women alike; whether it’s a crisp fade, pixie or long-layered texture. She also performs beautiful “lived-in” colors to allow for clients to achieve longevity in their look. 

Jess is an exceptional communicator and clients value her ability to guide them through the consultation process. 

Jess is soaking up precious time with her new daughter, Thea, while on an extended leave. We encourage her to cherish the time but we’ll be eager to welcome her back soon!

Shannon

Shannon’s dedication and talent in the salon world have earned her a well-deserved reputation and a top-notch hairstylist. Her achievements, such as being names “Hairstylist of the Valley” multiple times, speak to her exceptional skills and commitment to her craft. 

Clients appreciate Shannon’s attentive and personalized approach, as she goes above and beyond to ensure they feel valued and heard during their salon experience. Her expertise in working with blondes and extensions showcases her versatility and ability to create stunning hair transformations and exceed expectations. 

Outside of the salon, her priority is her family, spending quality time with her husband and chasing after her energetic boys. Her passion for both her profession and her loved ones shines through in everything she does, making her a truly remarkable individual in both her personal and professional life.   

LYDIA

SALON OPERATIONS MANAGER & Makeup Artist

Lydia joined our salon family after graduating in 2016 with a Degree in Applied Science.

She has proven to be one of our most vital components to The Hair Tailor. She’s likely the smiling face that will greet you when you walk through our doors. Client’s have tried to recruit her for employment at their own establishments because of her charm and professionalism. She’s our unsung hero and seems to handle any challenge with ease. She knows the inner workings of this salon, like the back of her hand. 

Turns out Lydia has well kept, secret skills that even we were unaware of until recently. She is an incredibly talented makeup artist! So talented in fact that we invited her to join in collaboration for weddings, prom and other occasions within the salon! It didn’t take long for word to spread and her clientele list to grow. She stays busy with one-on-one makeup tutorials and events. 

On the rare occasion she isn’t hustling around the salon, you can find her improving on her swing at one of the local gold courses.

AJ

stylist

AJ graduated from Aveda Insitute in 2018 and never looked back. 

We admire AJ for her serene energy and optimistic personality. She’s calm, gentle and we insist that she seems to almost “float” as she walks through the salon. She connects fully with her clients and treats each one lovingly. This is a gift that cannot be taught and hard to find. 

She’s considered one of our short hair/pixie specialists. Her men’s cuts are beyond noteworthy and her skills don’t end there. From hand-tied extensions to color formulations, she can do it all. 

AJ enjoys talking travel with her clients, as she and her husband place great value on the topic. She spent time living outside of the US and is quite an adventurer. She has 2 young children at home with whom she looks forward to sharing this passion. 

Kendyl

Kendyl was recruited to join our team as an apprentice just before graduating, 2 years ago from The Salon Professional Academy. 

Sine then, she has proven to be the raw talent we all sensed from the beginning. Raw talent and ability, mixed with an unstoppable strive for success has produced an incredible stylist. Her growth rate is unlike any we’ve seen before. 

Around these parts, she’s now considered our hand-tied extension specialist. Her skills range far beyond including men’s and woman’s haircuts, balayage and lived-in colors. She also seems to have a way with many of our younger clients, both guys and gals alike.  

Kendyl grew up in a small town, Hinckley. Her time growing up on the farm no doubt contributed to her work ethic and ability to “figure things out”. She’s the oldest of five children and certainly fits the part. She has an “old soul” and we often forget just how young and fresh she is. 

Her family brings her joy and time spent with them feeds her soul. That’s where you’ll find her when she’s not in the salon. They enjoy every minute spent at the family cabin. 

She’s blazed through her education here at The Hair Tailor and said she “feels blessed to enter into the industry surrounded by such amazing talent.”  

Addie

Stylist

Addie comes to us as a 2020 Aveda Institute graduate. She continued her studies throughout the in-depth, advanced training program for the following year. 

She’s a bright, charming, incredibly-talented artist. She’s light-hearted by nature but she’s very serious about her performance behind the chair. 

Her skills range from the most complex of colors, men’s cuts and extension specialty. Addie can truly do it all. She believes in the importance of communication and boasts the ability to customize for each individual client. She feels strongly that it’s important to have a stylist that can guide you in a direction that is conducive to your lifestyle, offering suggestions and raising questions. If you’re a client who craves guidance, she’s your gal. 

Outside of the salon, you’ll find her up north at her cabin with her family and friends. She’s a self-proclaimed karaoke singer who cannot pass up a suitable dance floor when she sees it.

She’s a Stillwater/Grant Township native and she feels right at home here, with her river view from our windows. 

Steph

Master Stylist

Steph launched her career in San Diego before making the move to Stillwater last fall, driven by a desire to strengthen family bonds and establish deeper roots. 

With 17 years of experience, her profound passion for education permeates every aspect of her work. Steph thrives on the diverse challenges presented by her extensive clientele, while delighting in the artistry of all things blonde—from meticulously crafted full foil highlights to effortlessly chic, low-maintenance styles.

Steph has an unwavering commitment to creating exceptional client experiences, and she finds profound joy from helping individuals to feel their best. She takes great pride in enhancing natural beauty and empowering clients to achieve their hair aspirations.

Outside of the salon, Steph cherishes moments spent with her children, engages in spirited family game nights, and channels her creativity into hands-on DIY projects at home.

Linsey

Stylist apprentice

Linsey’s journey form cosmetology school to a valued member of the salon team is a testament to her hard work and determination. Through her apprenticeship program, she has showcased not only her skills but also her willingness to learn and grow in her craft. 

Despite her talent and ability to excel in any service she takes on, Linsey remains humble and open to feedback from her mentors. Her confidence is balanced with a willingness to seek guidance, showing her commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in her work. 

Her positive attitude and dedication to her craft make her a valuable asset to the salon team. Her colleagues are proud to have her on board and she continues to impress them with her passion, talent and drive to succeed. The future looks bright for Linsey as she continues to shine and make her mark in the salon industry. 

Zea

In 2017, while attending college, Zea became one of the most valuable members of our team at The Hair Tailor, taking on various roles. With the completion of her degree, she blossomed into our exceptional social media/marketing specialist. Zea has an incredible ability to complete our thoughts and effectively showcase our brand identify to our audience with a captivating visual representation. 

She currently contracts with multiple, highly successful businesses in the surrounding area and we just thank our lucky stars that we “discovered” her first. 

At home, Zea is blessed with four lovely daughters. Despite her busy schedule, she manages to curate a stunningly designed living space and tackle impressive DIY projects with finesse.
